Privacy policy
FunFlixDroid is an independent project run by Fyustorm. This page says what leaves your phone, and where it goes. Your videos, scripts and library stay on your device. The statistics below never contain a file name, a title, a folder or a server address.
Usage statistics
The app sends statistics while it is open. They are on by default. Turn them off in Settings > Update, and nothing more is sent.
What is sent:
- Time spent in the app, time played, and how much of it a script was driving a toy
- App version, Android version, phone make and model
- The models of the toys connected, and which of their motions are in use
- How often features, screens and players are used, and errors by type
- How the app is set up: language, settings, and library size as ranges (“100-499 videos”)
The installation is identified by a hash of a random ID created by the app, not by an Android identifier.
If you are signed in with Patreon, the record of your installation is linked to your account. Sign out, or turn the statistics off, if you don’t want this.
These records are deleted 90 days after they were last updated. What remains are daily totals, with no identifier.
Catalog matching
To recognise your scripts and fetch their tags, the app sends the server a hash of each script file: a fingerprint, not the file or its name. A hash can still identify a script the catalog knows.
If the catalog doesn’t recognise a script, you can search it yourself: what is in the search box is sent, and it can be pre-filled from the file name, so check it first. If you confirm a match, the script’s hash, axis and duration are sent and kept, with your account if you are signed in, so a wrong match can be undone.
Ratings and reports you submit are stored against the same installation hash, or against your account if you are signed in.
Patreon account
Signing in is optional, and only needed for premium features. The server then stores your Patreon ID, username and email, and your supporter status.
The Handy over WiFi
The connection goes through The Handy’s own online service. Your connection key and the script being played are sent to that service, and its own privacy policy applies. Over Bluetooth, nothing goes through it.
Crash reports and debug logs
After a crash, the app offers to send a report. If you accept, it opens your email app with the report for you to send. Debug logs are written on your phone, and only leave it if you share them.
Voice control
The microphone is used only for voice control, when you turn it on. Recognition runs on the phone.
Permissions
- Bluetooth, to find and drive your toys
- Location, on older Android versions, which require it for Bluetooth scanning
- Microphone, for voice control
- Notifications, and foreground services to keep playback and processing running
- Installing packages, to install updates

This site has no analytics and no account. It sits behind Cloudflare, which processes visitors’ requests, including IP addresses, to deliver the pages and protect the site. The buy links on device pages come from the IoST Index and lead to other sites.
Your data
To see or delete what is stored about your account, write to [email protected]. Statistics without an account aren’t tied to anything that lets me find yours: turn them off, and your installation’s records are deleted after 90 days.
FunFlixDroid is for adults only.
