2. Naming Convention for Videos & Scripts

1 min read

FunFlixDroid automatically associates your scripts to videos based on filenames. To ensure your files are matched correctly, follow these simple rules.

๐Ÿ” Basic Matching Rule #

To associate a script to a video:

๐Ÿ“น MyAwesomeVideo.mp4
๐Ÿ“„ MyAwesomeVideo.funscript

โœ… The filenames must match exactly, excluding the file extension.

FunFlixDroid will automatically detect and link them together.

๐ŸŽฏ Multiple Scripts per Video #

You can associate multiple scripts with a single video by using a suffix:

๐Ÿ“น MyAwesomeVideo.mp4
๐Ÿ“„ MyAwesomeVideo.sleeve.funscript โ€“ for stroker-type toys
๐Ÿ“„ MyAwesomeVideo.vibrator.funscript โ€“ for vibrators
๐Ÿ“„ MyAwesomeVideo.custom.funscript โ€“ any custom label

The suffix helps you distinguish between scripts, and FunFlixDroid displays them clearly in the interface.

โš ๏ธ Important Tips #

  • While special characters are technically allowed in filenames, itโ€™s safer to use underscores _ or dashes - for better compatibility.
  • It’s recommended to keep your video and its associated script(s) in the same folder
  • If you rename or add files, you can refresh a folder by simply leaving it and opening it again โ€” thereโ€™s no manual refresh button needed.

๐Ÿงฉ Manual Association #

If a script wasnโ€™t matched automatically (e.g. filename too different), you can manually assign it from the Home screen.

While the video is playing (or loaded in the playlist), tap the โ€œAdd Scriptโ€ button to manually select and link the appropriate Funscript file.

This allows full control when filenames donโ€™t match or when experimenting with alternate scripts.
